Autumn 2026
It’s Autumn, we’re heading into the new month of May, and I have so much positive energy to share… well, positive in my little bubble.
The world feels like it’s in turmoil at the moment. One bad wave after another, with a tsunami in between for so many countries and communities. It’s sad. It’s overwhelming.
But we must reflect, be understanding, and be stronger now more than ever.
Learning to be flexible — from the yoga mat into daily life — is something I’m constantly working on. And from the stories you share with me, my dear yoga community, I know you are too.
From a personal perspective, I feel more adaptable than ever… although learning new things can definitely challenge me.
One moment I’m doing casual, on-call Diversional Therapy work at an aged care centre, and then somehow I’ve stepped into a permanent part-time role as a Community Support Worker. I started in late February, and they’ve been incredibly supportive of my travel and teaching plans — Bali in March (teaching at a yoga festival), and later this year, a Summer Escape to Greece where I’ll also be teaching yoga on the beautiful island of Amorgos.
It’s not always easy when schedules change. Believe me!!!
Not being able to attend my daytime pole classes and train with the teachers I love has been really hard. I’m a stickler for routine and very disciplined when it comes to training (just ask Mumma Reg), and I’ve had to change about 90% of it.
Hello late evenings and weekends.
With over 50 hours of work a week now, I can definitely say my fitness and endurance are being put to good use!
My new role at the community centre is full of conversation, responsibility, laughter, movement, meditation, connection, safety, fun, friendships, planning, creativity, support and care — plus plenty of mental stimulation and learning. I work with people aged between 74 and 95…
And they simply rock.
It truly is a dream job, and I feel very grateful for the opportunity.
They are teaching me what real strength, perseverance and tenacity look like.
I’ll be sharing some of their health tips and insights around wellbeing in my next blog — there’s so much wisdom there.
Meanwhile… yes, I did the poop test.
Next up: bone density test and heart check.
Ahhh, the joys of over-50s health exams.
Stay amazing, yogis.
Xxxxxxx
