Health Homework
How’d you go with the Health Homework, yogis?
Wait—what homework?
Last month I listed 10 simple actions to boost your health—mental, physical, emotional, spiritual. You could choose one or a few. Check the blog again if you missed it!
Health isn’t just about how you look. It’s about connection, communication, movement, and meaning. And guess what? Loneliness affects health too—big time.
In Australia, the cost of loneliness is estimated at $2.7 billion (around $1,565 per person affected). It’s been linked to depression, heart disease, diabetes, dementia… the list goes on. And it doesn’t just hit the elderly. It affects everyone—from the young to the young-at-heart.
So come to class! If you need connection, a giggle, a breath, or a stretch—we’re here.
Yoga = Union.
It strengthens your body, calms your mind, and energises your spirit.
After class, during Savasana (the glorious corpse pose), we stop. Full stop. That pause is the antidote to the rushed, frantic pace of life.
I recently read something from Dr Greg Fitzgerald that stuck with me: “Energy is needed for healing—and you can never build health on an exhausted nervous system.”
Makes sense, right?
So maybe try doing less. Breathe more. Feel better.
Stress management is the best investment of your life. Try this combo:
- Yoga
- Rest
- Good food
- Connection
- Nature
- Friendship
- Meditation
Simple. Doable. Powerful.
